LOTTE Group's History

The history of LOTTE Group started with manufacturing and selling chewing gum in Japan (Tokyo) in 1948. The name LOTTE is derived from Charlotte, the heroine of the masterpiece The Sorrows of Young Werther by the great German literary figure Goethe.
LOTTE’s message, "The Sweetheart of Your Mouth", incorporates our desire to be a company loved by people all over the world, just as she is known as the "eternal lover."
